Regularly Scheduled Events Feasting with Feast Sundays 1:30 pm; the Cantú GLBT Center behind Crown College Join us for fellowship and fun as we plan events, discuss social justice, learn about Christian faith, and play a game or two together. True to our name, a free meal is provided! We begin with a short worship every two weeks with music and prayer, and always end with a sharing of bread and a pouring of the cup, remembering the story of Jesus- everyone is welcome! Subversive Bible Study Tuesdays 8:00 pm, the Cantú GLBT Center behind Crown College Every week, we read a passage from the Bible with a focus on social justice and its system-subverting message.  Learn more about how we read the Bible, and find selected passages posted regularly here. We welcome different perspectives and all levels of knowledge so we can continually discover new meaning in these ancient texts! Theology on Tap Every two Saturdays, Time and Location TBD before each week- contact for more info Want meaningful conversation without pressure, judgment, or agendas? Come and join us every two Saturdays for Theology on Tap! Get yourself a cold drink, an appetizer, and be part of a casual conversation about a faith topic. We value questions and continual exploration of our individual perspectives, and we welcome all faiths and understandings to the table. Next Meeting: Sat. 10/18, 6 pm Location TBD Habitat for Humanity Monthly on Saturdays, 9 am; a downtown location Come and join us as we help this important organization build affordable housing for low-income families so that all people can live in dignity and security. No previous experience is necessary! Space is limited, so please make sure you contact us ahead of time by e-mailing us here. This year, Habitat for Humanity will be conducting smaller scale projects at local sites. Special Events/Programs Black Liberation Theology Speaker Panel Thursday, October 23rd at 7:00 pm; College 9 Namaste Lounge Come participate in a panel-led discussion about the African-American struggle against oppression and for liberation and how this has shaped black perspectives on Christianity, theology, and faith. Progressive Campus Ministry Service Retreat Saturday-Sunday, Nov. 1st-2nd, all weekend, CA House at UC Davis We will be leaving Saturday morning at 7 am for our service retreat hosted by the Cal Aggie Christian Association at UC Davis. We’ll work together with many other Northern Californian progressive campus ministries at a local non-profit organization and end with a day of fellowship, worship, and fun. Contact us if you’re interested in being a part of this 2 day retreat! Alternative Gift Market with CAN Sat. & Sun. Nov. 22-23 from 1 to 5 pm (both days); First Congregational Church, 900 High St. FEAST will be a vendor this year at the Alternative Gift Market at First Congregational Church! We’ll be selling fair trade coffee provided by our friends at CAN- all proceeds will be going back to the work and mission of CAN.
