What does FEAST stand for? Members get asked this question a lot. It is an acronym that stands for
Faith- Everyone has faith in something. It is the goal of this organization to reveal it. We strive to cultivate an environment where people from all walks of life are comfortable exploring the complicated questions surrounding what they trust to be an authentic way to live.
Education- Some of us are followers of Jesus. Some of us are just curious about what the Bible says and how we can live better with each other. Education keeps us questioning the things in ourselves that hold us back as well as the things in the world that keep us from from love.
Action- It is important to all of us that we live our faith through our actions. As we learn and grow, we FEAST members find that they have some general things in common regardless of what they believe. These things include a disdain for war and violence, a welcoming and hospitable attitude towards all people, and a passion for social justice. Our commitment to loving actions is shown
Service- We love our community and want to show it that we are here to actually walk the walk. We have participated in feeding people who live outdoors, building with Habitat for Humanity, gathering food for Second Harvest Food Bank, and various other projects around Santa Cruz.
